The Election Support Centres were initiated, during the 2016 General Elections and Referendum. Election Support Centres were established at National and Provincial level with the main aim of ensuring that the Commission at Headquarter level is well informed of key activities taking place in the field during any particular election. In turn, as challenges arise, the Commission strives to apply immediate corrective measures in the field to ensure that the elections are conducted according to the laid down procedures.

The Electoral Commission of Zambia wishes to advise the General Public and Stakeholders on RECRUITMENT OF POLL STAFF-LUSAKA

On 30 April and 11 May 2018, the Electoral Commission of Zambia met with Church Mother Bodies, political parties and the Zambia Police to discuss the norms and standards of stakeholder conduct in view of the 5 June Chilanga Parliamentary By-Election.

Notice is hereby given to the general public that the following candidates were validly nominated following the lodging in of nominations for the by elections in CHASEFU, CHIPANGALI, KASENENGWA, LUMEZI, LUSANGAZI, CHIFUNABULI, CHILANGA AND LUSAKA Districts and Six (6) Wards in Five (5) districts on Tuesday, 26th June 2018. The polls shall take place on Thursday, 26th July 2018 between 06:00 hrs and 18:00 hrs.

Notice is hereby given to the general public that the Electoral Commission of Zambia prescribed Thursday 26th July, 2018 as the
date on which to hold the Mayoral, District Council Chairperson’s elections in Lusaka, Chilanga, Chasefu, Chipangali, Kasenengwa,
Lumezi, Lusangazi and Chifunabuli districts and By-Elections in six (6) Wards. Further the general public is being informed that the
polls will take place from 06:00 hours to 18:00 hours.
