NOTICE OF VALIDLY NOMINATED CANDIDATES FOR ONE (1) COUNCILLOR BY-ELECTION

The Electoral Commission of Zambia wishes to inform members of the public of the suspension of Continuous Registration of Voters (CRV) in Chipata and Mumbwa.

Notice is hereby given to the general public that the Electoral Commission of Zambia has prescribed Tuesday, 19th November, 2024 as the date on which to hold three (3) ward local government by-elections in Dilika Ward of Chipata District in Eastern Province, Iyaya Ward in Mungwi District of Northern Province and Kalwanyembe Ward of Mumbwa District in Central Province.

The Electoral Commission of Zambia has registered 12,248 voters in the month of September, 2024, out of which 6005 are male while 6243 are female. Samfya recorded the highest number of registered voters in the month under review at 1004, while Kabwe recorded the least at 38.

The Electoral Reform Technical Committee (ERTC) is undertaking a review of Zambia’s electoral laws and processes aimed at enhancing the electoral process.
