The Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) Chairperson Hon. Mr. Justice Esau E. Chulu Officially closed the 2021 General Election Nomination Centre on 20th May, 2021.

Electoral Commission of Zambia Chief Electoral Officer Mr. Kryticous Nshindano certified the Register of Voters which will be used in the 2021 General Election and beyond on 9th May, 2021 at Elections House in Lusaka.

The purpose of the briefing was to provide an update on various issues on the preparations for the 2021 General Election.

The Chairperson of the Electoral Commission of Zambia Justice, Esau E. Chulu appealed to the Political Party Liaison Committee to adhere to COVID-19 prevention guidelines proposed by the Technical Committee on COVID-19 in the 2021 General Election.

Nomination fees are paid by aspiring candidates before their nomination can be accepted by the Commission. The fees are set against each category of elections and offer specified rates for males, females, youths and persons with disabilities.

The Technical Committee to look at modalities of holding the 2021 General Election amid the COVID-19 pandemic is  holding its third meeting running from 19th to 20th April 2021.
