VERIFICATION OF GRADE 12 CERTIFICATES AND EQUIVALENT

The Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) wishes to notify the general public that the Commission on 27^th March, 2018 will be conducting Nominations in sixteen (16) Local Government wards in Luapula, Kansuswa, Chiweza, Chiwuyu, Ntumbachushi, Munwa, Nampundwe, Mikunku, Kalebe, Kakoma, Kanongo, Mushima, Kalilele, Mudyanyama, Mwanza East and Lealui Lower wards

In view of this, the Commission wishes to advise members of the public that may wish to contest in the current vacant Local Government elections to be conducted on 24^th April, 2018 to take note of the requirements to participate in the elections.

Aspiring candidates in the by-elections should present a certified Grade 12 certificate or equivalent together with completed and attested statutory declaration and nomination papers subscribed before a Magistrate, Local Court, Commissioner of Oaths, Election Officer or Returning Officer on Tuesday 27^th March, 2018 between 09.00 to 15.00 hours.

The Commission wishes to further guide aspiring candidates who wish to participate in the Local Government polls that the Grade 12 certificate or equivalent or higher qualification must be certified by the Examination Council of Zambia or the Zambia Qualification Authority respectively.

Failure to comply with this requirement to submit authenticated certificates by the relevant authorities to the Commission during the nomination process shall render the nomination papers null and void.
