The Electoral Commission of Zambia has released complete results of the elections that took place on 14th September, 2017 in Four (4) Districts and Eight (8) Wards in various parts of the country.
The election results for District Council Chairpersons show that the United Party for National Development (UPND) won the Itezhi Tezhi by- election while the Patriotic Front (PF) won the elections held in the three (3) newly created districts of Lavushimanda and Kanchibiya in Muchinga Province and Lunte in Northern Province.
In the Ward by-elections, the UPND won the elections in Mpidi Kaonga of Zambezi District in North-Western Province and Libonda Ward of Kalabo District in Western Province.
The PF won by-elections held in Chililalila Ward of Kabwe District in Central Province; Chitwi Ward of Luanshya District and Luansobe Wards of Mufulira District in Copperbelt Province; Chimanja Ward of Chilanga District in Lusaka Province; Mabinga Ward of Chama District in Muchinga Province and Luntomfwe Ward of Kaputa District in Northern Province.
