ECZ Awarded Again

The Electoral Commission of Zambia has been awarded 3rd Prize for Best Corporate Image during the commemoration of the Africa Public Service Day which took place on 23rd June, 2017.

The Award was presented to the Commission by Her Honour the Republican Vice-President, Mrs. Inonge Wina.

The Commission won the 3rd Prize out of the 88 institutions that participated in the Road Show which preceded the Africa Public Service Day. The 3 (three)-day Road Show and Exhibition, took place at East Park Mall in Lusaka from 20th to 22nd June 2017.

During the commemoration, President Inonge Wina who graced the occasion urged all public service workers to uphold the highest level of professionalism when executing their duties to boost citizens’ confidence in the public service, and government.

Mrs Wina said Government will continue formulating and implementing polices, systems and practices that nurture a culture of professionalism and ethical values in the public sector.

“Government is committed to entrenching a citizen-centred service delivery culture to not only meet the aspirations of the people, but foster socio-economic development,” Mrs Wina said.

Mrs Wina said Government wanted to quickly improve the delivery of public services to the people to meet their expectations and would continue to promote the use of information and communication technologies to deliver quality services.

She pointed out that technology would eliminate unnecessary bureaucracy, reduce corruption, increase transparency, and improve efficiency in the delivery of services.

“I am glad that progress is being made by public institutions to embrace provision of electronic services such as tax registration and returns, electronic payslips and procurement, among others,” Mrs Wina said.
