2021 GENERAL ELECTION CALENDAR

ECZ Chief Electoral Officer Mr. Kryticous Nshindano released the 2021 General Election Calendar on 4th February, 2021 virtually on the Zoom Platform with Political Parties and Civil Society Organisations.

The Commission shared the 2021 General Election Calendar with details of activities which are taking place towards the conduct of the General Election on 12th August, 2021. The Commission also shared details of the legal provisions and requirements for conduct of all electoral activities ahead of the 2021 General Election.

The following are the Activities contained in the 2021 General Election Calendar;

• 09/11/2020 to 20/12/2020: Voter Registration

• 30/12/2020 to 31/01/2021: Voter Registration Consolidation of Voter Registration Data

• 07/02/2021 to 07/05/21: Voter Register Details objections & verifications / Electronic Inspection of the Provisional Register of Voters (USSD Platform/ Website)

• 29/03/2021 to 02/04/2021: Physical Inspection of the Provisional Register of Voters

• 09/05/2021: Certification of the Register of Voters

• 10/05/2021 to 14/05/2021: Presidential Nominations

• 11/05/2021: MP, Mayor, & Council Chairperson Nominations

• 12/05/2021: Ward Councilor Nominations
• 14/05/21 to 11/08/2021: Campaign Period

• 15/05/2021 to 11/06/2021: Nomination Petition

• 12/08/2021: 2021 General Elections
