11th April, 2019 By-Election Eve Update: Activities Leading upto The Polls

1. Ballot Papers were received in the presence of PF, UPND and GEARS Initiative on Monday 1st April, 2019 upon arrival at Kenneth Kaunda International Airport
2. Ballot Paper verification was undertaken on Tuesday 2nd April, 2019 by political parties with the ECZ
3. In Roan Constituency, ballot paper verification took place on Sunday 7th April in the presence of PAC, PF, NDC, and UPPZ
4. All is in place to conduct tomorrow’s By-Elections in Bahati and Roan Constituencies and the seven (7) Wards across the country
5. Deployment of poll staff and materials has been ongoing and is almost complete in readiness for tomorrow
6. District Election Support Centres in Bahati and Roan Constituencies have been set up to provide ECZ HQ with field updates during polls
7. In Bahati, the issuance of NRCs in Kalaba, Misakalala and Mutuna Wards to individuals that lost their cards was put to a stop today. The Department of National Registration has postponed the exercise to a later date and the Department will communicate that date to the public
8. ECZ HAS AND IS NOT ISSUING ANY REPLACEMENT VOTERS CARDS, COUNTRYWIDE.
