The Date to certify the register is within the mandate of the Commission under the Electoral Process Act.
It was set for today because during the 2015/2016 voter registration exercise the Commission also registered people that would only turn 18 by 31/07/2016 even if they were not 18 at the time of registration.
This strategy was meant to increase youth participation. With the above in mind the Commission set the date of certification today as part of the Election Time Table.
Everyone that is on the register is 18 and above as at 31/07/2016. The certificate itself is printed as the first page of the register booklet.

I HAVE A VOTERS’ CARD ISSUED FROM CIVIC CENTRE KAFUE. PROBLEM IS I DID NOT MANAGE TO COME TO ZAMBIA DURING THE PERIOD OF VOTER VERIFICATION EXERCISE AND AM AFRAID MY NAME MAY NOT HAVE BEEN CAPTURED ON THE ROLL. I LIVE IN PRETORIA, SOUTH AFRICA. I AM COMING TO VOTE ON THE 11TH. HOW CAN I BE HELPED?
