The Chairperson of the Electoral Commission of Zambia Justice, Esau E. Chulu appealed to the Political Party Liaison Committee to adhere to COVID-19 prevention guidelines proposed by the Technical Committee on COVID-19 in the 2021 General Election.

Nomination fees are paid by aspiring candidates before their nomination can be accepted by the Commission. The fees are set against each category of elections and offer specified rates for males, females, youths and persons with disabilities.

The Technical Committee to look at modalities of holding the 2021 General Election amid the COVID-19 pandemic is  holding its third meeting running from 19th to 20th April 2021.

Electoral Commission of Zambia Chief Electoral Officer Mr. Kryticous Nshindano at a Press Briefing at Elections House in Lusaka on 2nd April, 2021 said that the Commission had revised the dates for payment of Nomination fees for Presidential Candidates and candidates vying for National Assembly and Council seats.

The purpose of the briefing is to provide an update on various issues on the preparations for the 2021 General Election.
