No CommentsNotice is hereby given to the general public that the Electoral Commission of Zambia has prescribed 20th January, 2022 as the date on which to hold the Kabwata Constituency Parliamentary by-election in Lusaka District of Lusaka Province. On the same date, the Commission will also conduct two (2) Local Government Ward by-elections in Liangati Ward of Senanga Town Council in Western Province and Sokontwe Ward of Milenge District of Luapula Province. Nominations for the said by-elections will be on Tuesday, 28th December 2021.

Notice is hereby given to the general public that pursuant to Article 52 (6) of the Constitution, the Electoral Commission of Zambia has prescribed 21st October, 2021 as the date on which to hold theKaumbwe Constituency Parliamentary Election in Petauke District of Eastern Province. On the same date, the Commission will also conduct Council Chairperson Elections for Chisamba and Lusangazi Districts of Central and Eastern Provinces respectively. Further, the Commission will conduct four (4) Local Government Ward Elections in Kamifungo Ward of Masaiti Town Council in Copperbelt Province, Lufubu Ward of Mwansabombwe District in Luapula Province, Kalilele Ward of Mushindamo Town Council in North-Western Province and Mulamfu Ward of Zimba Town Council in Southern Province.

The Electoral Commission of Zambia on 28th July 2021 and 2nd August 2021 announced the indefinite suspension, subject to review, of campaign activities in Sioma, Ikelenge and Lusaka (Kanyama Constituency) respectively. The suspension was due to electoral violence despite the guidance provided by the Commission.

The Electoral Commission of Zambia on 31st July 2021 issued a statement over the incident in Kanyama Constituency in Lusaka in which lives of two Patriotic Front supporters were lost under gruesome circumstances.
