Mrs Mwangala Zaloumis holds various educational qualifications, including Social Work and Law from the University of Zambia. During her thirty-two (32) year career as Senior Counsel of the Judicial Courts of Zambia, Mrs Zaloumis has demonstrated a strong understanding and experience in matters relating to the electoral process and constitution making.
She chaired the Electoral Reforms Committee in Zambia whose recommendations became part of the democratic governance in the Constitution, spokesperson and member of the National Constitutional Conference (NCC) on drafting the Constitution of Zambia from 2007 to 2010. She was also a member of the Technical Committee on drafting of the Zambian Constitution enacted in 2016
In the course of her illustrious career, Mrs Zaloumis has worked in various portfolios both in the public and private sector including as Chairperson of the Energy Regulation Board of Zambia (ERB) from 2003 to 2007.
In 2021 to mark the International Women’s Day, she was honoured among hundred women in Africa as a “Courtroom Mail” for her outstanding work in the courts of law.
