PUBLIC NOTICE<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n (For immediate release)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n COMMENCEMENT OF CAMPAIGNS FOR NATIONAL ASSEMBLY AND LOCAL GOVERNMENT ELECTIONS<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Notice is hereby given that campaigns for the following National Assembly and Local Government elections will commence on <\/sup>30th<\/sup> September, 2021<\/strong> and end on 20th<\/sup> October, 2021<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Constituency Election <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Council Chairperson Elections<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Ward Elections<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n The Electoral Commission of Zambia set Thursday, 30th<\/sup> September, 2021 as the date on which to conduct fresh nominations for the said elections as a result of death of aspiring candidates in the affected Constituency, districts and wards before the 12th<\/sup> August, 2021 polls. <\/p>\n\n\n\n The\nCommission is engaging participating political parties and candidates to draw the\ncampaign timetables across the affected constituency, districts and wards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The\nCommission wishes to remind stakeholders that these elections are being held in\na very unusual period amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. Stakeholders\nare therefore expected to adhere to the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)\ndeveloped by the Technical Committee on mainstreaming of COVID-19 prevention\nmeasures in the 2021 election calendar <\/p>\n\n\n\n The\nCommission further reminds political stakeholders to adhere to the Electoral\nCode of Conduct as they conduct campaigns.
