Priority will be\ngiven to persons who worked as polling Assistants in previous General\nElections. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Reporting\nto<\/strong>:\nConstituency returning officer <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Main\nAccountability <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Conduct\nelections at a polling station.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Duties\nand Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Verifying\nthe identity of voters in the register of voters;<\/li><li>Marking\neach voter\u2019s thumb with indelible ink;<\/li><li>Issuing\nballot papers;<\/li><li>Directing\nvoters where to cast their ballot papers;<\/li><li>Ensuring\nthe safety of the ballot boxes;<\/li><li>Assisting\nthe Presiding Officer during the counting of votes at the end of the poll; <\/li><li>Guiding\nvoters to their respective polling station; and<\/li><li>Performing\nany other election duties as may be assigned by the supervisor. <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Qualifications:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>A Grade 12 Certificate or equivalent with\npasses in English and Mathematics;<\/li><li>A Zambian with a green National\nRegistration Card;<\/li><li>A Registered voter; and<\/li><li>A tertiary qualification will be an\nadded advantage.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Personal\nAttributes:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Good\ninterpersonal and communication skills<\/li><li>Must\nbe non-partisan, of sober mind and high integrity<\/li><li>Must\nbe able to work with limited supervision<\/li><li>Must\nbe self-driven and motivated<\/li><li>Must\nhave the ability to work with own initiative and innovation <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Application letters accompanied by a\nCurriculum Vitae (CV), photocopies of required educational certificates and\ncontact number(s), <strong>MUST <\/strong>be\naddressed to the<strong> District Electoral\nOfficer (Town Clerk\/Council Secretary) of the applicant\u2019s district of\nresidence.
