Electoral Commission of Zambia Chief Electoral Officer Mr.\nKryticous Nshindano at a Press Briefing at Elections House in Lusaka on 2nd\nApril, 2021 said that the Commission had revised\nthe dates for payment of Nomination fees for Presidential Candidates and\ncandidates vying for National Assembly and Council seats.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe Commission has noted concerns raised by\nsome political parties and independent candidates on the period allocated for\npayment of nomination fees, the Commission would like to guide the stakeholders\nthat Presidential Candidates should pay nomination fees between 1st<\/sup> and\n9th<\/sup> May, 2021 to allow for pre-processing of supporters scheduled\nfor 10th May 2021 while Candidates for National Assembly and Councils should\npay between 1st<\/sup> and 16th<\/sup> May, 2021 to accommodate the\nprovisions of the dissolution of Parliament and Councils which has been set for\n14th<\/sup> May 2021\u201d said Mr. Nshindano.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mr. Nshindano said that the changes in the\ndates for payment of Nomination Fees would allow sitting Members of Parliament\nand Councillors wishing to recontest their positions to pay nomination fees\nafter the dissolution of Parliament and Councils.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAll aspiring candidates will be required to make deposits in the ECZ Bank Accounts provided as the Commission will not be handling cash\u201d added Mr. Nshindano.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
