(1) Elections to the office of President shall be conducted directly, under a majoritarian electoral system, where the winning candidate must receive more than fifty percent of the valid votes cast, and in accordance with Article 101.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>CALCULATION: Add votes for all candidates and get 100%, 3,695,710 is total of valid votes cast representing 100%.<\/p>\n<p>NOTE: 1,847,855 is exactly 50% of total valid votes cast.<\/p>\n<p>Edgar Lungu scores 1,860,877 which is 50.35%<br \/>\nA difference of 13,022 votes.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Had there been just one extra vote above 50% that would have met the 50%+1 requirement.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\u200b CORRECT CALCULATION OF 50%+1 Refer to Constitution.
