{"id":4925,"date":"2023-09-11T09:09:16","date_gmt":"2023-09-11T09:09:16","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/localhost\/20230213Backup\/?page_id=4925"},"modified":"2023-09-11T09:09:16","modified_gmt":"2023-09-11T09:09:16","slug":"composition","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.elections.org.zm\/?page_id=4925","title":{"rendered":"Composition"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>[vc_row css=&#8221;.vc_custom_1451991003825{margin-bottom: 100px !important;}&#8221;][vc_column][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<h3>Composition of the Commission<\/h3>\n<p>The Commission, under the Electoral Commission of Zambia Act No. 25 of 2016, consists of the Chairperson, the Vice-Chairperson and not more than three other members appointed by the President, subject to ratification by the National Assembly. \u00a0The Chairperson, and in his absence the Vice-Chairperson, has the responsibility to chair and manage meetings and monitor the daily affairs of the Commission and represents the Commission at various fora.<\/p>\n<p>The Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), who is the Chief Executive Officer of the Commission, participates in Commission meetings representing Management but does not have the right to vote.<\/p>\n<p>The policy related issues are discussed in the Commission meetings, and decisions are made based on the majority of votes of the members present in the meetings.\u00a0 The Commission meetings are conducted once a quorum is formed.
