LIFTING OF CAMPAIGN SUSPENSION – SIOMA, IKELENGE AND LUSAKA (KANYAMA
CONSTITUENCY)
The Electoral Commission of Zambia on 28th July 2021 and 2nd August 2021
announced the indefinite suspension, subject to review, of campaign activities
in Sioma, Ikelenge and Lusaka (Kanyama Constituency) respectively. The
suspension was due to electoral violence despite the guidance provided by the
Commission.
Following review, the Commission would like to inform the media and members of
the public that it has lifted the suspension of campaign rallies in Sioma,
Ikelenge and Lusaka (Kanyama Constituency) effective midnight today.
The affected political parties/candidates are further advised to adhere to
Electoral Code of Conduct when conducting any campaigns.
Further, all political parties are guided to abide by the Electoral Code of
Conduct and COVID-19 guidelines issued by the Electoral Commission of Zambia.
